November 05, 2012 “The Daily Telegraph” –Every schoolboy used to know that at the height of the empire, almost a quarter of the atlas was coloured pink, showing the extent of British rule. But that oft recited fact dramatically understates the remarkable global reach achieved by this country.

Following the report of this story in the UK’s Daily Telegraph newspaper, I commented in the readers section that it appeared the British had been “the world’s most prolific illegal immigrants”.

Almost 100 Telegraph readers recommended my comment. But the Telegraph’s editors didn’t approve of the anti-British Empire sentiment, and censored it. For the full story go to:

      I like your blog.
It would not surprise me that the Brits were the worlds most common illegals, they have always been guilty of “Do as I say, not as I do” to other people for centuries; but wouldn’t it put the wind up the racists and white supremacists. Here in Australia where most families are immigrants, many illegal, it is sickening to hear the tirades against boat people and immigrants, legal or not. No one in the media ever publishes what we (the west) has to do with creating the conditions that make people want to leave their countries. (not including climate, adventure etc.)
